Adult Care Skills Bootcamp

Develop the knowledge and skills to progress your career in adult care.

This funded Skills Bootcamp is designed for people who are working in, or want to progress within, adult care settings.

The programme develops the knowledge and practical skills required when working in a lead adult care worker role and leads to a Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care.

Course Overview

Working in adult care involves supporting individuals with a wide range of physical, emotional and day-to-day care needs.

This Skills Bootcamp develops the knowledge and skills needed to work in a lead adult care worker role. You will explore areas including safeguarding, person-centred care, communication, health and safety, equality and inclusion, and your responsibilities when supporting adults in care settings.

The qualification also aligns with the Apprenticeship Standard for Lead Adult Care Worker and is suitable for people who want to work, or are already working, with adults in health and social care settings.

On successful completion, you will achieve the:

Duration: 60 hours
Delivery: Blended learning
Attendance options: Days, evenings and weekends
Assessment: Written assessment and portfolio
Location: Essex

Flexible attendance options are available to help you complete your training around work and other commitments.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry qualifications.

However, you must:

  • Be at least 19 years old
  • Be working, volunteering or completing a practical placement within a relevant care setting

A workplace or practical placement is required because you will need to demonstrate competence in both your knowledge and practical skills.

Who Is Eligible?

To be eligible for funding, you must:

  • Be aged 19 or over
  • Be employed or self-employed
  • Live in Essex
  • Have the right to work in the UK

Funding is subject to your individual status and eligibility.

If You Are Employed

Your employer must be able to demonstrate that the training is expected to result in one or more positive outcomes, such as:

  • An increase in your pay or salary
  • An offer of a new job or apprenticeship
  • Increased opportunities or contracts for the company
  • Additional responsibilities
  • Promotion or progression within your current role

If You Are Self-Employed

You may still be eligible for funding if you can demonstrate that completing the Skills Bootcamp is expected to increase the services you offer.

Self-Referral

If you are currently employed and can demonstrate that the training could improve your job prospects or support career progression, you may be eligible to apply directly.
