Overview
The purpose of the Functional Skills Mathematics Level 1 qualification is to demonstrate both mathematical skills at the appropriate level and the ability to apply mathematical thinking effectively to
solve problems successfully in the workplace and in other real-life situations.
Entry Requirements
There are no entry qualifications or age limits required by learners to undertake this qualification.
Course Content
The Levels 1 and 2 courses include the following learning outcomes:
- Using numbers and the number system (whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages)
- Using common measures, shape, and space
- Handling information and data
- Solving mathematical problems and decision making
Method of Assessment
The assessment involves a non-calculator and calculator sections.
